Kollmorgen Electro Optical Awarded Republic of Singapore Navy Contract for Submarine Periscope Systems

The Republic of Singapore Navy awarded a contract for Submarine Periscope Systems to Kollmorgen Electro Optical of Northampton, MA.
Kollmorgen Corp., Electro-Optical Division, Northampton, Mass., has been awarded a contract for the production of Submarine Periscope Systems for the Republic of Singapore Navy. The infrared imaging equipped periscope systems will provide mission critical, all weather, visual and electronic search, warning, and platform architecture interface capabilities for the Singapore Navy’s Challenger Class Submarines.
Kollmorgen is teamed with Shipbuilder Kockums AB of Malmo, Sweden for the installation and integration of the systems.
The work will be performed by Kollmorgen in Northampton, MA, Brattleboro, VT and Groton, CT facilities. Kollmorgen has been the primary designer of all submarine periscopes used in the U.S. Navy since 1916. The Singapore program ensures Kollmorgen’s continued leadership in submarine imaging for both the US and International Navies.
