MTG Marinetechnik

MTG Marinetechnik, an independent naval design center from Germany, recently attended the Third International Ship Design and Naval Engineering Congress, held in Cartagena, Colombia.

Numerous national and international visitors and high-ranked navy officials visited MTG Marinetechnik to talk about the complexity of designing naval warships and the potential to reduce the technical and financial risks for the contracting authority.

MTG Marinetechnik has almost five decades' experience in managing complex ship acquisition programs for navies and government agencies worldwide.

In particular, the unique methodology incorporating the requirements management, the generation of several ship designs, constant cost estimation and evaluation, and simulation and assessment of different designs as an iterative process were of great interest.

MTG Marinetechnik presented itself as a company with almost five decades' experience in managing complex ship acquisition programs for navies and government agencies worldwide.

In addition to the exhibition, MTG was invited to put in a paper and give a lecture at the scientific stream about the planning methodology VORGES, a procedural model for total ship system engineering.

VORGES has been developed by MTG to help ship designers meet the time and cost requirements they face, by avoiding errors in the early stages of ship design, constantly evaluate costs, and accelerate the overall design process.
