BMT Defence Services Ltd, a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, has secured further contracts with the European Defence Agency (EDA) following the successful completion of the overall platform energy efficiency study for the EDA in August.

The contracts were awarded by the Research & Technology (R&T) and Capabilities directorates of the EDA. The first is a study into electric armour for armoured vehicles, placed by the CapTech GEM3 area (ground systems and their environment) of the R&T directorate.

The second contract requires the development of reference scenarios to provide a European vision of how unmanned vehicles can support future European security and defence policy (ESDP) operations. This contract is under ESM 02 management (aerial systems and their environment).

The contract awarded most recently is entitled “Personnel Recovery Equipment”. For this capability study, BMT will elaborate on technical solutions suitable for implementing an inter-operable personnel recovery system usable in support of ESDP operations.
