The SEA SENTOR surface ship torpedo defence system – which is in service with the UK's Royal Navy, installed on US platforms, and has been ordered by the Turkish Navy – is the most advanced system available in the market today. The SEA TUDAS system is a complete underwater defence aids suite, offering protection against not only torpedoes, but also against UUVs and AUVs. It also detects submarines and other launch platforms by a single in-line towed array system. Ultra is also the consortium lead-company for the TRAPR DCL programme, which provides active torpedo detection, classification, localisation as well as Anti-Torpedo Torpedo (ATT) response targeting for the US DoD. SONOBUOYS AND ACOUSTIC PROCESSING SUB-SYSTEMSUltra Electronics supplies over 70% of NATO's sonobuoys, offering a range of active and passive sonobuoys for maritime coastal surveillance applications, harbour protection and anti-submarine warfare. The latest generation of sonobuoys includes long-life sonobuoys for coastal surveillance as designs for Multi-Static ASW (MSA) operations. As well as providing sonobuoy telemetry receivers, sonobuoy positioning systems and AQS 970 / 971 acoustic processors, Ultra has now also been awarded a contract to supply the MoD with a full multi-static active processing capability providing search, localisation and attack options. SUBMARINE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMSNetwork Enabled Communications-enabled communications allowing submarine communication at great speed and depth is are a key requirement of modern navies. Ultra's unique Recoverable Tethered Optical Fibre (RTOF) system allows satellite communication by submarine without leaving a wake or plume or requiring the submarine to come to periscope depth. DATA LINK SYSTEMSUltra produces a full range of acoustic data communication systems and sub-systems including multi-link processors providing Link 11 / 16 and 22 capability in a single, compact unit with integral programmable crypto.
