Sonardyne International has announced that Eric Levitt and Ross Gooding have joined the company’s business development team with specific responsibilities for maritime security in North America and Europe respectively.

Eric Levitt is based in North America and joins Sonardyne from Kongsberg where he was responsible for the market development of a range of maritime security solutions. With many years experience in this sector, Eric has an in-depth appreciation of the potential applications for Sentinel, Sonardyne’s new diver detection sonar system. Sonardyne’s US subsidiary based in Houston, Texas will support Eric's focus on the North American market.

Ross Gooding is based in the UK and makes the move to Sonardyne following a successful period at QinetiQ where he was responsible for expanding the maritime security marketplace for one of the world’s largest defence technology companies. Ross’s background in port engineering and superyacht security adds to the already substantial capability of the team.

Commenting on the appointments, Rob Balloch, Strategic Development and Marketing Director for Sonardyne said: "Eric and Ross will add significant value to our defence operations. Their decision to join Sonardyne is testament to the success of Sentinel and the need to complement this with a global business development presence."

Sonardyne International is based in Yateley, UK with regional operating subsidiaries in Aberdeen, the USA, Singapore and Brazil. Sentinel IDS is the world’s smallest and most capable diver and swimmer detection system and was recently chosen for use by the US Navy. It provides reliable domain awareness against subsea threats to ships, ports, coastal infrastructure, high value assets and defence installations.
