ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK Secures Another Cerberus Diver Detection Sonar Sale

ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK has successfully closed another Cerberus Mod 2 sale to an undisclosed military customer through a European defence manufacturer.

The well known military equipment manufacturer chose the class leading Cerberus Diver Detection Sonar (DDS) system for its value for money and superior performance over that of its closest rivals. The system, to be delivered later this year will be used to protect a government facility and is likely to be followed with further sales once the benefits of the system have been demonstrated to its users.

Cerberus provides 360 degree sonar coverage to detect and classify open and closed circuit divers, swimmers, underwater vehicles and other underwater targets and through its intuitive software, alert the operators of their presence.

The sonar can be used as part of an integrated security system alongside the FORCIS fibre optic security product and other complimentary sensors. The combined system was recently successfully demonstrated at the ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK's test facility earlier last month.

This brings the ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK current production programme for the first half of 2012 well into double figures.

Commenting on the contract, Carl Stone, maritime security product manager at ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK said: "Following the successful closure of a large DDS contract earlier this year, the interest in Cerberus has increased significantly which is testament to the superior performance of our product. We are expecting to close a number of strategic sales in the military market during the final half of this year further reinforcing our position as the providers of class leading diver detection systems."
