Rheinmetall is one of the largest German manufacturers of military simulation-systems for all forces, possessing 18,000 employees and achieving a €3.5 billion annual turnover. Rheinmetall provides turnkey solutions from computer-based training to full-mission activities, including courseware and construction works. The company possesses more than 35 years' experience in high-precision and fidelity simulation-modelling. Its expertise in the submarine, surface-ship, tactical-training and navigation markets ensure highly-economical products with assets that are immediately ready for operation. Rheinmetall has a wide range of simulation-systems, including generic, stimulation and on-board systems. TACTICAL TRAINING-SYSTEMSThese simulation systems are dedicated to the strategic training of modern navies. Training is focused on tactical decision-making of naval officers for joint and combined operations. Naval doctrines may also be developed and tested. The features comprise the simulation of naval platforms, including sensors, weapons and damage assessment, as well as the simulation of all warfare areas (ASW, ASuW, AAW, EW, MW and NCS). NAVAL SHIP-HANDLING SIMULATORThe naval ship-handling simulator enables a bridge team to train in accordance with naval regulations using highly-sophisticated simulation-systems. NAVAL SHIP-ENGINE SIMULATORIn the naval ship-engine simulator technical personnel learn how to reliably handle all technological ship-operation systems. Based on the physical and mathematical replica and with the help of the thermodynamic model, an unequalled degree of realism can be created. MINE-HUNTING SIMULATORRheinmetall's mine-hunting simulators teach personnel mine-hunting and mine-sweeping activities. Underwater objects can be detected, classified and identified, and mine-disposal charges may be deployed by using an ROV. ANTI-SUBMARINE WARFARE SIMULATORThe anti-submarine warfare simulator is designed to perform training for all units participating on an ASW mission. The inherent flexibility allows for multiple concurrent exercises, including a multiple-operation room (CIC-cubicle), to be run simultaneously. COMBAT INFORMATION CENTREEquivalent to the submarine command team trainer, the Rheinmetall combat information centre system is used for effective team training in the handling of command, control and communication centres of all type of surface vessels. Complex warfare scenarios take into account all sensor and weapon systems. SUBMARINE COMMAND-TEAM TRAINERThe Submarine Command Team Trainer (SCTT) provides outstanding training capabilities unobtainable on-board a real submarine. The scope of training comprises complex scenarios of surveillance and reconnaissance, including detection, classification, target identification and weapon engagement. SUBMARINE CONTROL SIMULATORThe Submarine Control Simulator (SCS) is an on-shore training facility for steering and engineering-control tasks. The main training objectives are familiarisation with equipment and dynamic behaviour of submarines in different modes of operation. The simulator supports part-task training as well as team training and refresher training for experienced crews. PERISCOPE SIMULATORThe periscope simulator provides a modern state-of-the-art mock-up of a periscope, with all handles and control elements present. SONAR-SCENARIO TRAINERThe sonar-scenario trainer is an active / passive sonar simulation system which can be used to train sonar operators in detection, classification, identification and analysis of targets.
