BALLISTIC PROTECTION FOR NAVAL VESSELS

TenCate Advanced Armour offers lightweight customised solutions for the ballistic protection of naval vessels, ranging from small composite patrol vessels up to large steel ships. Our solutions are used for the protection of vital areas aboard ships such as ammunition magazines, bridge stations, combat information centres and communication equipment.

Our protection solutions are tailored to meet user requirement for both permanent integration in the structure of new vessels and for additional protection of existing ships.

Our projects include protection of the Swedish Visby Class corvettes, the British Type 45 Destroyer and several small size patrol vessels such as the P46 patrol boat build in the UAE.

For the development, design and manufacturing of the ballistic protection system for the British Type 45 Destroyer, we were awarded the 'Chairman's Award for Innovation and Implementation' from BAE Systems, which is the prime contractor on the T-45 project.
