Deep Ocean Engineering - Underwater ROV SystemsDeep Ocean Engineering is a technology-based engineering and manufacturing company that provides integrated robotic solutions for various underwater applications in harsh and diverse operating environments. Deep Ocean has sold more than 530 Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) systems in over 30 countries worldwide. Deep Ocean's ROV systems have been utilized in a broad range of industry applications, including:
Customers include the military organizations of 18 countries, including the US Navy, Naval Surface Warfare Center, explosive ordinance disposal, Naval Facilities Engineering and Service Center and Army Corps of Engineers, the FBI, Canadian Defense, UK customs, as well as various utility power companies, science, law enforcement and security groups. INTERNATIONAL ANCILLARY EQUIPMENT MANUFACTUREOver the 25 years of international use of Deep Ocean's ROVs in various industry applications, these systems have achieved a reputation for ruggedness and dependability, ease of use, and the relative ease of maintenance and repair with minimum downtime. Deep Ocean continually develops and improves its products for better handling and power capability, increased telemetry and payload, and ease of integration for customer-required sensors and tools. These improvements provide scalability, and use of common modular components and sub-assemblies across product types, and the ability to incorporate specification modifications with slight variations to the base design. Deep Ocean works closely with most third-party tooling and electronic equipment manufacturers to ensure that its ROVs can accommodate the necessary components to meet customer requirements. Deep Ocean also designs and manufactures ancillary equipment, including manipulators, cable cutters, cable reels (manual and powered) and various other tools. ROV SYSTEMS INTEGRATIONIn addition to its own products and designs, Deep Ocean has integrated the following sensors and tools with ROVs delivered:
STRINGENT PRODUCT FIELD-TESTINGThe quality of the final product is tested on various levels. Major materials and components are tested upon receipt from the supplier. Testing is conducted for work-in-process and sub-assemblies before final assembly, and full system testing is conducted on premises, in a test tank. The major systems are field-tested in the San Francisco Bay. SPECIALIZED ENGINEERING PROJECTSIn addition to offering a complete range of standard ROV systems, Deep Ocean provides customized solutions for clients with specific requirements. Tailor-made products are engineered from proven component technologies. The engineering and manufacture of appropriately configured submersible delivery system includes the integration of a wide variety of sensors, tools, electronic navigational controls and tracking systems, instrumentation packages and accessories. Deep Ocean has an industry-leading team of mechanical and electronic engineers, with a strong foundation of proven experience and technical knowledge. The company also designs and manufactures ancillary equipment, including manipulators, cable cutters, cable reels (manual and powered) and various other tools. Deep Ocean has won several awards, including the State of California Governor's Small Business Award and the Marine Technology Society's Compass Award for outstanding contribution to the advancement of the science and engineering of oceanography and marine technology. Deep Ocean has also won several US Government Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants.
