Proengin - Biological and Chemical Warfare Agent Field Detectors

Proengin has developed biological and chemical warfare agent field detectors which use flame spectrophotometry technology.

The AP2C agent field detector is used worldwide and has proven the capacity of Proengin technology to be the most reliable in the market. The APC2 offers the lowest false alarm rate and is the simplest equipment to use.

New developments such as the AP4C agent field detector have extended the capacity of that technology to simultaneously detect chemical warfare agents, such as sarin or mustard gas, and toxic industrial materials. There is no limitation in the number of gases that can detected by the AP4C.

ADLIF CHEMICAL DETECTOR FOR SHIP DECKS

Most current chemical detectors have to be installed inside a ship's citadel to be protected from sea conditions and exhausts. They can therefore only detect contamination when it is already inside the ship, causing a dangerous delay in the activation of countermeasures to protect the crew and the inside of the ship.

The new ADLIF chemical detector, however, can be installed on the ship's deck, therefore providing an earlier alarm in the case of a chemical attack. This early warning will allow an earlier automatic closing of apertures and therefore provide the quickest and best protection for the ship's crew.

This advantage is further increased by the short response time of the unit. Self-contained simulants allow periodic checks that the ADLIF chemical detector is functioning correctly by the simple means of a single switch.

The ADLIF chemical detector also has the large advantage of not requiring any maintenance for two years. The only consumable required to run the ADLIF chemical detector is a litre of water every month.

The ADLIF chemical detector can detect both chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial materials.

MAB BIOLOGICAL FIELD DETECTOR

Complexity, the likelihood of causing false alarms, and high power consumption has long made it difficult to deploy biological detectors on a battlefield. The new MAB biological field detector, however, has circumvented all those problems by using the same technology as the ADLIF.

Highly ruggedised, very simple to use on the field and with extremely low power consumption (15W) the MAB biological field detector also has unique features in terms of biological detection.

No other field detector is able to detect tiny biological particles, to categorise them by chemical composition, to discriminate background particles of the field from suspicious particles and even to differentiate those suspicious particles between them.

The MAB biological field detector has the unique capacities of detecting and categorising biological particles with a proven extremely low false alarm rate, and detecting dangerous or suspicious biological particles, such as anthrax spores, even from within a natural background.

The MAB biological field detector can even function in a cloud of smoke or in an atmosphere polluted by a high level of diesel exhausts. Like the ADLIF, the MAB biological field detector can be installed on a ship deck.

The MAB biological field detector also possesses flame spectrometry technology. This ensures that it will function even in extreme weather conditions, provide the lowest false alarm rates (negative and positive) and require little maintenance, therefore providing a high level of availability

Independent laboratories have tested the MAB biological field detector. These tests have clearly demonstrated its superiority to other biological field detectors.
