Camden, NJ – L-3 Communications (NYSE:LLL), announced today that its Communication Systems - East (L-3 CS-East) division, a leading supplier of secure government communication products and systems, has received National Security Agency (NSA) type 1 certification for its Talon (KOV-26), in-line network encryptor. Talon's small, lightweight, PCMCIA form factor makes it an ideal solution for use by federal government and US military users requiring high assurance security.
Talon, which weighs just three ounces and supports broadband data rates, protects the user's data up to Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS / SCI) using High Assurance IP Encryptor Interoperability specification (HAIPE IS) protocol. Talon enables laptop users who are in remote locations, such as satellite offices, or government employees on travel, to securely access classified networks over the Internet from anywhere. Talon offers a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) that makes the security operation transparent to the end user.
"We are thrilled to receive NSA certification for the Talon product, which we believe addresses a critical need for our customers," said Greg Roberts, president and chief operating officer of L-3 CS-East. "Talon provides users with a portable, crypto-modern, secure link to the global information grid."
