The Fortis Zd connector family from TE Connectivity (TE) now includes compact six-row configurations in addition to the original nine-row versions. Well suited to C4ISR applications requiring high-speed, compact, and lightweight connectivity in rugged environments, the new six-row connectors can be used in such space-constrained applications as UAVs, satellites, and man-portable systems.
Supporting two differential pairs per row, the new connectors are available with 10 or 20 columns for up to 40 signal pairs. TE will be featuring this technology at AUSA 2011 on October 10-12, at Booth 7153 (Hall D) in Washington, DC.
Fortis Zd connectors support data rates of 12+ Gb/s and are designed to meet the rugged mechanical and environmental requirements of defense and aerospace applications. By combining the best features of commercial high-speed backplane connectors with proven Mil-Spec mini-box contacts, the high-performance system enables improved communications, unmatched situational awareness, and technologically superior command/control.
To meet a range of mechanical and EMI environments, the connectors are available in three shell styles; all-plastic shell, tamped metal shell for enhanced mechanical protection and shielding, and machined metal shell for the ultimate in connector protection and robustness.
