Whippendell Marine - Motor Control Starters, Plant Automation and Aviation Ground PowerWhippendell Marine is a leading supplier of LV electrical systems, equipment and components to the naval market. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of advanced motor control solutions which meet the demands of the modern shipboard environment. These range from our standard range of AC starters, to automated plant control and monitoring systems for critical applications, and leading aviation ground power solutions for naval platforms. MOTOR CONTROL STARTERSWhippendell Marine is a leader in advanced motor control and can supply a range of direct online and star or delta AC starters from 0.25kw to 150kW, specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of naval applications; starters can be supplied to meet defence, military specification or Lloyds' standards. CUSTOMISED MOTOR CONTROL STARTERSWhole ship sets can be provided with the majority of applications satisfied from the standard motor control range, and we can also supply customised equipment designed and manufactured to meet customer requirements. Starters can also be equipped with a data interface capable of transferring digital and analogue signals to and from an integrated platform management system. ADVANCED PLANT AUTOMATION SOLUTIONSWhen more complex advanced plant automation solutions are required for critical applications, Whippendell Marine can provide bespoke solutions to meet specific requirements, and has extensive experience in supplying software-based machinery control, monitoring and data-logging systems for applications such as HVAC, submarine air compressors and blowers, deck machinery and steering gear systems. The company is also an expert in the application of automated process control systems for naval requirements. AVIATION GROUND POWER SYSTEMWhippendell's advanced aviation ground-power control and distribution system supplies 200V, 400Hz and 28VDC to aircraft service positions in the hangar and on the flight deck. Employing power management techniques to maximise the use of available power, dual interlocking for personnel and ship safety, and electronic overload arrangements to protect the system and aircraft, the aviation ground-power control and distribution system is fully scaleable and can be employed in single or multi-spot platforms. The illumination of the unique operator control panel is fully compatible with NVG equipment, and the unit can be fixed or handheld, allowing full control of the system from a variety of positions. POWER CONVERSION AND DISTRIBUTIONWhippendell Marine can offer a range of equipment to meet the needs of naval power conversion and distribution. Static frequency inverters designed to be supplied from the ship's 24V emergency battery system, providing 115V, 60Hz, single-phase outputs which meet the requirements of defence standard 61-5, part four. MCCB panels, emergency switchboards, battery busbar systems, and hand or automatic changeover switches from 15A to 250A can also be provided from our standard range or designed to meet a specific requirement.
