SNPE GROUP - NAVAL COUNTERMEASURE PRODUCTSSNPE develop and manufacture off-board decoys for advanced threat applications in naval defence. These expendable countermeasures may be fitted to all launchers and incorporate radar absorptive materials, pyrotechnic gas generators, IR and RF screening clouds, activated material for dual mode signature (IR and RF) and second generation or IR flares.SNPE’s long experience in the pyrotechnic industry and with radar absorptive materials is directly applied to the design and manufacture of these advanced off-board decoys. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE SNPE, leading European firm in the powders, explosives and propellants industry, has been developing and manufacturing all types of pyrotechnic components adapted to the requirements of propulsion units, explosives and pyrotechnic devices for ammunitions and missiles for more than 40 years. RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT Advanced technologies developed by SNPE are directly used in the design of our naval expendables: radar absorptive materials, pyrotechnic gas generators, IR and RF screening clouds, advanced materials for dual mode signature (IR and RF), 2nd generation or IR flares (for spectral and spatial credibility). The development of our new products is based on computations with dedicated software and industrial testing facilities unique in Europe. Engagement scenario softwares are used to upgrade performances like signatures (IR and RF), trajectory and sequences. Testing facilities include radar, anechoic chamber, thermal cameras (3 to 5 microns and 8 to 14 microns) and spectroradiometer (1.5 to 14 microns) and tests can be done either in static or dynamic conditions (100m3 chamber, wind tunnel, open field testing facilities). ADVANCED OFF-BOARD DECOYS Our products are able to deliver collocated dual mode signatures to face advanced threats. Being able to take into account data from the launcher they are "smart expendables". Fighting against sea skimmers - our REMIR decoys family is able to deliver dual mode signatures from 300 to 3000 m range: bursting point is given by the launcher. These decoys are dedicated to distraction and seduction phase. Long range RF decoys are also proposed for confusion phase. Expendables from the SMOGRE family are dedicated to screening actions; both IR and RF screening clouds are available. Fighting against ARM - our decoys from the SUNAD family are able to deliver an active RF signature with IR credibility; the RF module replicates the radar signature. With a range of 350 metres in 15 sec these decoys have the same spatial displacement characteristics than the platforms to be protected. All these decoys can be fitted to all launchers. QUALITY ASSURANCE Our naval expendable countermeasures are designed and manufactured with the same AQAP110 quality assurance certification as our propellant grains integrated into French Strategic Missiles and we are approved ISO 9001 since August 1998. PROTECTION OF OTHER PLATFORMS Our countermeasure activities are not only applied to naval platforms but also to aircrafts and helicopters (PYROTRONICS subsidiary) and all kinds of AFVs.
