ELETTRONICA - RWR, ESM, ELINT and ECM Electronic Defence Equipment and Solutions

ELETTRONICA, since 1951, is specialised in the design, development and manufacture of electronic warfare equipment and systems; products include RWR, ESM, ELINT and ECM for naval, airborne and ground applications.

ELETTRONICA's naval equipment comprises the following product families.

NAVAL ESM SYSTEMS

The SEAL family of naval ESM systems can be provided in different configurations to provide:

• Self protection function, with the capability to drive automatically active ECM equipment (jammers) or passive ECM equipment (chaff and flares)
• Tactical ELINT functions, with a specific law enforcement application
• Enhanced ELINT functions, providing the capability to operate in a very high-density scenario without performance degradation; detection of LPI emitters and passive ranging and localization.

SEAL ESM systems can work with Nettuno-4100 ECM, to form a fully integrated ESM / ECM system - NCO compatible. Within the naval CEC (MPEC) philosophy ELETTRONICA naval ESM and ECM equipment provide highly accurate information, contributing to the generation of the shared common picture.

ELETTRONICA's various naval ESM systems have been installed on many vessels for many Navies; the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Navy has recently selected an ELETTRONICA ESM system for the 70 meter Baynunah class corvettes and retrofit on existing vessels.

NAVAL ECM SYSTEMS

The NETTUNO-4100 family of naval ECM products consists of new modular countermeasure products based on solid-state technology; also in production for airborne ECM. Three main variants are being developed with radiated power suitable for corvettes, frigates and destroyers / large-frigates. They are designed to concentrate power in the required direction and to deal with simultaneous threats.

Features include limited power consumption and better efficiency than conventional jammers; simple installation requiring no mechanical stabilisation, moving parts or wave-guides - only cables, outstanding reliability and availability. Very soft degradation is also claimed.

ELETTRONICA's various naval ECM systems have been installed on many vessels for many navies. Within the SIGEN consortium (in partnership with Thales), ELETTRONICA provides the full Electronic Warfare (EW) suite for the new Franco-Italian Horizon frigates, featuring a naval full solid-state active ECM system.

AIRBORNE ESM / ELINT FOR MARITIME PATROL AIRCRAFT

ELETTRONICA has developed ESM systems in several configurations for platforms devoted specifically to the new needs of the modern concept of coast guard patrolling, situation awareness and passive electronic surveillance.

ALR-733 FAMILY OF ESM AND ELINT SYSTEMS

ALR-733 is a multiple airborne application family of ESM and ELINT systems with modular design (different antenna configurations) for use onboard maritime patrol helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, situation awareness (for tactical A/C, SAR and transport) and AEW&C operations.

Features include automatic operation and broadband coverage from UHF to K (C to K) band (optionally extendable to mmW). They provide real-time extraction, analysis and tracking of radar signals. Pulse, intra-pulse and fine analysis ELINT functions include measurement of frequency, jitter, stagger, PRF and PRI. ALR-733 has full RWR capability. Some examples of this family are onboard the ATR-42, Fokker F-27, the naval variant of the NH90 helicopter (DETE-90), the EH101 and Embraer 145. Systems are being upgraded with digital receiver enhancements and NCO functions (EW controller, Defensive System Manager - EW multi-sensor threat data fusion and countermeasure coordination).

EW SYSTEM TECHNOLOGIES

In particular, to meet the hi-tech requirements of advanced ECM systems, ELETTRONICA has developed in-house key items such as:
