Saab - Naval Command and Control Systems

Saab offers integrated world-class C4I and weapons systems, along with further development and adaptations of existing command and control systems. Our naval systems for different applications and different ship types range from multi-sensor directors to complete Combat Management Systems (CMSs). Installations so far range to more than 15 different navies worldwide.

NAVAL COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEMS

All our command and control systems are built upon the well-known and proven 9LV platform, but thanks to their modular architecture they are fully scalable in both size and functionality from C2 to C4ISR systems.

The systems meet high performance requirements for both blue water operations and littoral warfare, with minimum lifecycle costs.

9LV MK4 COMBAT-MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The new generation of 9LV Mk4 naval C4I solutions is modular and scalable, allowing unique software connectivity and interoperability. They support swifter and more affordable development, easier upgrading and support, and improved adaptability.

The 9LV Mk4 combat-management system, based upon modular open-architecture, gives you freedom of choice and the advantage of naval C4I system flexibility that is fully adaptable to specific needs and requirements.

The 9LV Mk4 is well suited for all types of platforms, ranging from small patrol vessels through to large frigates. Saab can integrate any subsystem selected by the customer. The system provides the ship and the command team with outstanding operational capabilities, in support of all mission types in both open ocean and littoral regions.

CEROS 200 MULTI-SENSOR DIRECTOR

The Ceros 200 multi-sensor detector is a radar and optronic-tracking system designed for use on naval ships of 150t and more. When interfaced to modern missile or gun systems it provides excellent defence against any modern threat, including advanced sea-skimming missiles or asymmetric surface threats in littoral environments.

The Ceros 200 can be supplied in three different versions:

  • Basic version
  • Basic version with CWI for ESSM illumination
  • Stealth version chosen for the Swedish Visby project

EOS 500 ELECTRO-OPTICAL FIRE-CONTROL DIRECTOR

The EOS 500 electro-optical fire-control director is a lightweight optronic-tracking system designed for use on all naval ships. It is an excellent choice for observation, target identification and gunfire control.

The new version of the EOS 500 is part of the 9LV Mk4 modular suite of solutions for command and control in naval environments.

The EOS-500 electro-optical fire-control director can be provided as:

  • An optimally integrated part of the 9LV combat-management system
  • A stand-alone fire control system
  • A stand-alone sight system

9LV MK4 MULTI-FUNCTION CONSOLE

The 9LV Mk4 multi-function console has been developed with the operator in mind, which results in ergonomic excellence. Thanks to the ultra-high resolution 30in widescreen display it provides an extremely clear and distinct presentation of the tactical picture. This, together with the quick and logical human computer interaction concept, makes the 9LV Mk4 multi-function console ideal for all types of naval applications.

MFC 2000 MULTI-FUNCTION CONSOLE

The MFC 2000 comprises a family of Multi-Function Consoles (MFCs), ranging from rugged units for mission-critical operations (naval MIL grade), to semi-rugged units for other maritime operations (maritime grade).

The key word for the MFC 2000 is flexibility (in terms of design, technology and application). The MFC 2000 can be used for a broad spectrum of tasks. Functions are determined by the software and hardware module configuration.

The MFC 2000 is available in a number of single, dual or triple-head configurations, and it is a straightforward process to enhance or upgrade the console in response to changing needs.
