Montreal, October 28, 2003 - (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - CAE's marine systems division based in Leesburg, Virginia, has had its CMM Level 3 rating reaffirmed in a Software Capability Evaluation (SCE) against the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM).

The software CMM is a means for modelling, defining and measuring the maturity of the processes used by software professionals, allowing the U.S. Department of Defense to assess the capabilities of its industry partners in carrying out the work for recently awarded naval programs.

"This successful evaluation demonstrates that the marine systems division drives quality processes throughout the organization. It also assures our customers that we are a mature organization that can be counted on to meet their exacting requirements," said Joe Lee Frank, president, CAE USA marine systems.

The U.S. Department of Defense requires its industry partners to adhere to the highest standards of software engineering, and it sponsors the SEI, which is a federally funded research and development centre operated by Carnegie Mellon University.

CAE is a leading provider of integrated training solutions and advanced simulation and controls technologies to marine, civil aviation and military customers. The company generates annual revenues in excess of C$1 billion and employs more than 6,000 people in Canada, the United States and around the globe.
