Imtech Marine & Offshore and Radio Holland Netherlands Combine in Selling UniMACS® Blue Line Bridges

05 July 2006 12:57

Since its introduction in the market, celebrated with a Maritime Innovation Award, the UniMACS® Blue Line Integrated Bridge has been a big success.

A total of thirty bridges have already been sold, mostly in the commercial market but also to specific markets such as special yachts built as far as Taiwan and simulators in Vietnam.

All equipped vessels are sailing happily and to high satisfaction of their crews, proving the value of truly integrated information presentation and ease of navigation. Some pilots have been overheard making the remark “are you sailing Blue Line?” when visiting vessels equipped with these bridges made an entry into port. The word spreads.

The Blue Line, as this bridge is mostly called, has been developed and produced by Imtech and is successfully jointly marketed by the Radio Holland Group and Imtech. Starting in the Netherlands with immediate success, sales and market introduction has recently been extended to the UK, Greece and Turkey, other countries will follow shortly.

The unit has been successfully presented in Athens during the Posidonia show, which took place in early June of this year.

Due to its simple structure and pre-assembled cabinets, installation and commissioning on board is simple and straightforward, saving time and money straight away.

Mostly this bridge is delivered with the type approved standard 3 screen layout, but several vessels are equipped with a 4 screen layout sometimes including two extra wing stations as well. The Blue Line brings this versatility easily.

Latest features bring remote diagnostics (from the shore) as option as well, which will lay the basis for remote chart updates, making ship life and operation even more convenient.

Imtech has recently delivered more extensive UniMACS®3000 bridges to several vessels, like the UK RFA LSDA vessels (including DP2 systems), the Dockwise Yacht Carrier, two Stena High Speed HSS ferries, LPD2 Johan de Witt, Indonesian corvettes and many other special vessels and mega yachts.

Imtech expects to sell its one hundredth UniMACS bridge this year, only five years after the introduction in 2001.

The recent acquisition in March of this year of the Radio Holland Group by Imtech makes the cooperation between the two companies even stronger, providing excellent worldwide service to clients.
