Imtech (technical service provider) has considerably strengthened its position in the international offshore market with the receipt of three orders worth over €26 million. The orders are for the design and supply of high tech electrical solutions on board three offshore vessels. The orders are also connected with the increasing demand in oil and gas.
Ship owner Allseas has placed a contract with Imtech via its strategic partner Wärtsilä to supply the power generation and propulsion package including the integrated automation & navigation systems on board the new 225m-long offshore ship 'Audacia', an advanced pipe-laying vessel used for the installation of deep-water oil and gas pipelines.
In Singapore, the Sembawang Shipyard has placed an order with Imtech to be responsible for the supply of the complete electrical power and automation package on board the new 150m-long 'Sapura 3000', a heavy lift crane and pipe-laying vessel.
From the Chinese Zhongtie Major Bridge Engineering Imtech received an order to realise a part of the technological installation on board the 'Tianyi', the worlds biggest floating crane that is being built at the Zhejiang Shipyard in Ningbo in China. The instrumentation panels necessary for this order will be build by Zhenjiang Marine Electrical Appliance, Imtech's partner in China.
On all ships Imtech is responsible for a large part of the complete automation, integrated bridge, integrated power generation, power distribution and propulsion. On the 'Sapura 3000' and the 'Audacia' also a dynamic positioning system will be installed, with which it is possible to manoeuvre very accurately in all weather conditions. Imtech received these orders due to Imtech's capabilities and established track record in the highly sophisticated field of integrated Power and Automation systems packages for specialized vessels.
All three projects will be completed by Imtech Marine & Offshore; the division of Imtech specialized in maritime technology and will be delivered during 2006.
These orders fit the Imtech strategy to grow into a strong international technology player, not only in the offshore market but as well in the commercial marine market and the market for naval vessels. Recently Imtech already announced a maritime order portfolio in China for the supply of technical solutions on board over 130 ships with a total value of approximately €80 million.
