Luxury Yachts Portfolio Expanded to Include High-Tech Multimedia Technology

Imtech have announced the acquisition of Van Berge Henegouwen Installaties (VBH). The total purchase price (including earn-out) is based on about five times the EBIT and will be paid in cash. The acquisition will contribute directly to the profit per share.
The management of VBH will stay on after the acquisition.
VAN BERGE HENEGOUWEN
VBH is a specialist in the field of maritime technology for luxury yachts, such as high-tech entertainment (multimedia, audio and video), communication, security and operational systems, navigation and computer networks. Every year, VBH is responsible for these innovative technological solutions on board six or seven luxury motor and sailing yachts.
VBH has a strong network and has built up an excellent worldwide reputation with its customers. The company is based in Roelofarendsveen (The Netherlands) and employs about 35 people. The revenue achieved by VBH has increased by an average of 30 percent in recent years and was about €12 million in 2007.
IMTECH'S STRATEGY
Luxury yachts is an area of work in which Imtech aims to reinforce its position. A trend in this market is the growing demand for integrated networks in which the electrical systems on board make use of the same basic (IP) infrastructure.
Imtech and Van Berge Henegouwen co-operate more and more often in the market of luxury yachts. The acquisition of VBH reinforces the maritime portfolio of Imtech a well as enables Imtech to integrate high-tech multimedia technology in the total scope of activities in the areas of automation, electrical systems, propulsion, communication, navigation, IT and security.
The expectation is that Imtech's maritime companies (Imtech Marine & Offshore, Radio Holland group and Hagenuk Schiffstechnik (HST)) will be able to offer clients added value by expanding their range of maritime solutions with the high-tech multimedia technology of Van Berge Henegouwen. As known, Imtech acquires annually orders for dozens of luxury yachts in a large number of countries.
