Utilising their highly skilled workforce, Kent Modular Electronics (KME) have a range of LCD monitors specifically designed to withstand the maritime environment. KME provides marine approved standard displays and custom designs that are IP sealed and made to withstand shock and vibration. Monitors with enhancement options Available in display sizes 3.5In – 57In, other options include:
With a large standard range of LCD monitors, KME’s dedicated team are able to custom design a display to suit your needs. Marine compliant monitors To withstand tough encounters from the maritime environment, many of KME’s monitors are certified by independent test houses to meet the demands of the IEC 60945, the international standard for maritime navigation and radio communication equipment and systems. The marine approved monitor ranges are sealed from IP65 upwards, and KME also offer monitors suitable for ECDIS (electronic chart display information system). The approved marine modules are also designed to comply with MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461. Sunlight viewable displays KME have utilised Helioview transflective technology to eradicate glare from the sun and enable near perfect daylight viewing. Helioview uses both a transflective and anti reflective layer within the LCD screen to allow viewability in sunlight without glare, and are IP sealed to protect the monitor from weather conditions. Mounting options The LCD modules are manufactured in a wide variety of formats including head, chasis, desktop, handheld, panel mount and rack mount options. The popular rack mount monitor has a rugged milled aluminium rack front. There is a lower cost solution for the rack mount (LRD) which uses multiple sheets of metal bonded together. A head monitor is also available which is rugged in design with VESA fixings for desktop, arm or wall mounting. LCD for CRT replacement CRT technology has become obsolete creating a need for a newer substitute. KME have devised an alternative solution to repair standard replacements by designing LCD monitors for CRTs. These monitors are designed to fit like-for-like both mechanically and electronically, and are compatible with both VESA standard and legacy signals. KME offer both standard and custom designs which minimises the aggravation, time and cost of replacing diminishing CRTs. New products to the marine range New to KMEs marine range is the 40In naval chart display. This monitor has a resolution of 1920 pixels x 1080 pixels, and is designed to comply with EN60945 and ECDIS. There is a capability for silent operation, and optional features include touchscreen, integrated PC and MIL-STD-810/461 standards. KME have marinised a high-resolution 26In widescreen TFT panel to suit the demanding marine environment, with a resolution of 1920 pixels x 1200 pixels, advanced deep diming and contrast enhancing AR safety glass, this monitor is ideal for demanding naval applications. KME have also successfully tried and tested a 46In marine LCD display at temperatures as low as -40܄C, confirming that their monitors can encounter all extremes.
