Digital Systems Engineering (DSE) designs and manufactures IP67 / NEMA 6 flat panel displays and ruggedized mobile computers for the naval defence industry. DSE’s high-tech, rugged line of mobile computers and mil-spec approved displays are designed to withstand extreme tactical environments. These include intense shock and vibration, extended temperature ranges, salt spray, and fog.

Founded in 1995, Digital System Engineering manufactures its rugged mobile computers and sunlight readable monitors from its headquarters and manufacturing facility in North Scottsdale, Arizona. DSE is ISO 9001:2000/AS9100 Rev B registered.

MIL-TESTED MARINE FLAT-PANEL MONITORS

Digital Systems Engineering offers a product line of ruggedized military grade monitors called the MSM (Mil-Spec Monitor) series. This rugged line of monitors for high reliability applications meet the following military standards:

ALL-WEATHER MONITORS

DSE’s product line of ruggedized All-Weather Monitors (AWM) are hi-brite IP 67/NEMA 6 sealed displays. The outdoor displays are daylight readable and NVIS compliant, making the rugged monitors viewable during day-time and night-time conditions. The line offers the following features:

  • 8.4in – 15in rugged TFT display sizes available
  • IP67 / NEMA 6 watertight milled billet aluminium enclosure
  • Optional LED backlight (1000: 1 dimming ratio)
  • Optional night-vision goggle filter (MIL-STD-3009)
  • Optional touch screen
  • Optional internal CCFL heaters
  • Mounting options available: panel, ram, flush mount, and 19in rack mount

MIL-SPEC LCD

The ruggedized MSM Series display is a military approved monitor. The hi-brite LCD monitor can be mounted in any airborne, ship-based or ground-based vehicle. Uses of the MSM include:

  • Infrared surveillance
  • Situational awareness for unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Search and rescue
  • Utilization of FLIR night vision applications
  • View charts, maps and weather reports
  • Vehicle Optics Sensor System (VOSS)
  • View tactical data from command
  • Vehicle repair manuals
  • Vehicle diagnostic

RUGGEDIZED TACTICAL VIDEO DISPLAY

DSE’s ruggedized AWMV TFT display series is used by the US Coast Guard. The rugged video monitor can connect to any video signal (S-video or BNC). The standard AWMV series has three BNC inputs enabling the video display to have three separate video feeds at the same time.

RUGGED TOUCHSCREEN MARINE DISPLAY

The sunlight readable AWMVR marine display series can connect to any video source and any standard PC at the same time. Options such as touch, S-video, and USB pass-through are available for the AWMVR rugged hi-brite monitor.

LCD FLAT PANEL TOUCHSCREEN DISPLAY FOR COMPUTERS

The ruggedized AWMR touchscreen monitor series has been selected by the UK Ministry of Defence Royal Navy Division. The marine LCD flat panel display is designed to connect to any PC computer. It has one analog RGB video input. Optional inputs for a touch screen and USB pass-through are available.

HI-BRITE RUGGEDIZED MARINE MONITOR

The ruggedized AWML flat panel display series is designed to operate solely with DSE’s rugged mobile Vehicle Mount Computers (VMCs). The AWML rugged monitor series connects to DSE’s mobile VMC via its unique remote display connector.
